Wait 'Til Next Year, AGAIN!!!!

It's a century and counting for the Chicago Cubs. Manny Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers shoved Chicago into another long winter Saturday night, after a three-game sweep.

The Cubs' latest loss is especially disappointing, considering they played their best regular season since 1945, and won a league high 97 games. The Cubs head home without having a World Series triumph since 1908.

For now on The Avenue, the Cub flag is down and put away safely. We'll hang it up again when pitchers and catchers report to Mesa in February 2009. As a true Cub fan I stand behind my team, no matter what. I have been a CUB FAN since 1963, (I was born in the post season of 1962) and will be for the rest of my life. So what, they had another bad playoff series, they'll be back, sure as there's ivy on the center field wall.

Here's to you Men in Blue! See you on April 13th!

If it's any consolation, I hate Manny.....He suddenly learned how to run and field and just plain old TRY when he moved to LA? What's up with that?

I was hoping to watch a Sox Series!
Hey, you had a wee taste of October baseball...being an O's fan...we don't get many of those games! Growl...I'm thinking of Angelos and I am not very happy.

UGH! Being a Red Sox fan I was never happier than when we got rid of Manny. SO I can at least join you in blaming him for your season ending early. Even if that's not what you were doing. I'll still blame him (LOL).
