It Was a Fabulous Birthday

Let's do presents first, they're always the most fun!

From my SIL and brother a couple dvds.

From TOF and Whynot these beautiful flowers

From Augie Dawg, Durwood and TOF a ticket to see Laurie Berkner!

Kohls.com strikes again! I ordered some rugs for the bathrooms and a dozen of these washcloths, because you can always use washcloths. Well they sent me THREE dozen, so I figured the TWO dozen pictured here were my birthday present.

This lovely Tinkerbell T-shirt from Glitter Gurl. Please disregard that turkey wattle and that pained expression on my face, it's hard taking pictures at arm's length. Be afraid you youngens, THAT'S what 46 looks like. You too Sarah, you've only got three good years left.

and some Zingers from Glitter Gurl, mmm yummy.

My mom sent a check, that I'll prolly use to pay NICOR or ComEd, since they're on my back every month for money. An old friend sent a card and a funny book.

I got several phones calls from well wishers, one that I really didn't expect and I strongly suspect it was prompted by someone. But eh, I got the call and I should leave it at that.

Whynot took me out for a lovely dinner at Louie's. I had the garlic shrimp fettuccine, he had prime rib. Mine was good, his was better. Dontcha hate that! The soup was cream of broccoli with pepper jack cheese, delish!!!

The gossip I have to share is equally yummy.

Glitter Gurl's former boss is now a bartender at Louie's. Imagine! Yeah! Anddddd........the husband, or maybe former husband/soon to be former husband would be a more appropriate description now, of a neighbor/acquaintance, walked in with his 2 kids and another woman, um er girl. This man is 40-ish and the girl looked closer in age to his 17 yr old daughter. Jerk!

Moving on.

We skipped dessert and headed home and I just had to tell Augie Dawg all about these sightings. So I'm talking to her on the phone and on the road ahead of us is mass carnage. A common occurrence on this portion of road in J-Town. Every time I see those flashing lights now my heart sinks until I drive past and make sure there wasn't a little purple Cobalt involved. Whew, Glitter Gurl is safe. I ended my conversation with Augie and said "see you in the am" and Whynot said, "no you'll see her in 2 minutes."

There were oings (cupcakes) waiting for us at Augie Dawg's house. Chocolate for THEM and yellow ones for me. It was the best 46th birthday I ever had ;)

P.S.--Just who do you think it was that prompted that "well wishing call" from me? I thunk it up myself, surely nobody else on the face of this earth would have likened the miracle of our friendship to that beautiful blue marble sky?
