Viva® Vantage Paper Towels Make Bathroom Cleaning Easier

Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Viva® Vantage Paper Towels, but all opinions are my own.

I'd like to blame our messes on 'the kids' But it's just me, Whynot and the dogs. The dogs can't clean up after themselves, something to do with not having opposable thumbs or something like that. Whynot tries to clean, but I'm so darned anal that I'd just as soon do it myself.

http://ooh.li/90b9ff9

To make clean up easier I store cleaning supplies in the bathrooms. Glass cleaner, multi-purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner and brush, and paper towels. This way, in between regular cleanings I can have a shiny bathroom in about 2 minutes!

About the Viva® Vantage Paper Towels -

  • This towel stretches—that’s why it scrubs so well
  • The stretch delivers scrubbing power - Viva® Vantage
  • Towels are made with a revolutionary V-Flex Weave, which provides stretch that helps deliver great scrubbing power.
  • Great Scrubbing power for everyday messes
  • Sponge-like absorbency helps you soak up major spills

I realize that cleaning a bathroom isn't rocket science, but here are my tried and true tips for making a yucky job faster and easier:

  • Squirt toilet bowl cleaner under and around the rim
  • Spray outside of the toilet with multi-purpose cleaner
  • Let that sit while you move on to the mirror
  • Spray mirror with glass cleaner and wipe with Viva® Vantage Paper Towels
  • Spray sink with cleanser and use the same paper towel to scrub!
  • Now wet that same paper towel, ring it out and use on the outside of your toilet
  • Using a toilet brush, scrub the inside of the toilet
  • Grab a clean, dry paper towel and wipe the outside of the toilet
Presto!

You're done!

I love that Viva makes bathroom cleaning so easy. With all the germs in the bathroom I prefer disposable paper towels over cloth rags and the V-Flex Weave keeps the paper towel from shredding while giving it the strength to hold up while you scrub.

With Choose-A-Sheet you'll tear off only what you need. Less for little messes and more for big messes.

Kindness is Magic - #Netflix #StreamTeam August 2014

Disclaimer: This post is brought to you by #Netflix  #StreamTeam, all opinions are my own

Can you  believe it's already time for back to school!

You've probably purchased all the supplies already. Including a shiny new backpack, lunch box and 47 rolls of paper towels. I don't know about you, but I can't imagine what the teacher does with 47 times 30 rolls of paper towels, let alone where she stores them in that tiny classroom.

They're all set! Good to go!

But have you really prepared them for what's ahead in the coming school year?

Have you reminded them to start the year with kindness and empathy?

Below are some things you can do to help your child develop empathy.
  • set a good example by your own actions
  • make your child feel safe, loved and happy at home
  • encourage your child to help those less fortunate
  • take advantage of teaching moments

Check out this list of titles to stream on Netflix, which will help you show your kids how to treat others with kindness and respect. In addition to those below, Derek is a great way to foster a conversation about acceptance with your teens – from the creative mind of Ricky Gervais, a comedy genius with fans of all ages, this mockumentary style comedy-drama makes tough discussions more approachable.

Super Easy, Super Yummy Ice Box Lemon Cheesecake

This was a huge hit at our last Red Hattering!

Cheesecake:
1     (3 ounce) package lemon Jell-O
1     cup boiling water
8     ounces cream cheese
1/4  cup granulated sugar
4     Tablespoons lemon juice (less if you don't want too much lemon)
1     can Carnation Evaporated milk, well chilled

Crust:
1-1/2 cups  graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup  (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted

1/4 cup  sugar

Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter or margarine until well blended. Press mixture into 8 x 8 pan.

Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Cool until slightly thickened.

Beat cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice with mixer until smooth. Add thickened Jell-O and beat well.

In a separate bowl, beat the Carnation milk until fluffy. Add cream cheese/Jell-O mixture and beat well with mixer.

Line bottom of pan with crushed Graham crackers.

Pour in filling and top with more crushed Graham crackers.

Chill at least 4 hours and serve with fresh fruit and whipped cream.

(Omit the lemon juice and try a different flavor of jello for a little variety.)

The Hundred-Foot Journey

Disclaimer: I received complementary tickets to attend a pre-screening.

When Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg get together to produce a movie they create something deliciously spectacular. That creation is The Hundred-Foot Journey.

Opening in theaters today, The Hundred-Foot Journey is a culinary ingĂ©nue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. Displaced from their native India, the Kadam family, led by Papa (Om Puri), settles in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Filled with charm, it is both picturesque and elegant – the ideal place to settle down and open an Indian restaurant, the Maison Mumbai. That is, until the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin-starred, classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren) gets wind of it. Her icy protests against the new Indian restaurant a hundred feet from her own escalate to an all-out war between the two establishments – until Hassan’s passion for French haute cuisine and for Madame Mallory’s enchanting sous chef, Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon), combine with his mysteriously delicious talent to weave magic between their two cultures and imbue Saint-Antonin with the flavors of life that even Madame Mallory cannot ignore. At first Madame Mallory's culinary rival, she eventually recognizes Hassan's gift as a chef and takes him under her wing.

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” abounds with flavors that burst across the tongue. A stimulating triumph over exile, blossoming with passion and heart, with marjoram and madras, it is a portrayal of two worlds colliding and one boy’s drive to find the comfort of home, in every pot, wherever he may be.

The wonderful cooking scenes made my mouth water. The Hundred Foot Journey was a very enjoyable movie and a must see for all foodies. My compliments to the director.
