About a month ago, Kristine from Mommy Needs Therapy had a giveaway for an adhesive fabric wall graphic from Uprinting.

Laughing Leah Loves Lillies

and crafting too.

Before Baby was born, I asked my friend Leah if she could make him a sweater set. I left the creativity up to her and the end result was amazing!!

The sweater and matching cap are boutique quality and workmanship. We've washed it, by hand of course and it's held up beautifully. The knots are double tied and will not unravel.

Leah has recently begun selling some of her crafts through her website, click the link and head over to see what she has to offer. I think you'll find she's very creative and also reasonably priced. Check out the note cards and think teacher gifts for Christmas!

I'd also like to congratulate the winner of the 1st Uprinting giveaway. Lola, from Lola's Diner is the winner of 250 custom business cards. Lola, you'll be hearing from Uprinting by October 23rd with information on how to redeem your prize! Congrats!

Don't forget I still have Giveaway #2 and #3 going on for custom stickers and postcards.

Be sure to check out Uprinting.com for all your printing needs.

Holey Moley!

Today's post is dedicated to Michelle from Honest and Truly because this happened to her too. And I laughed, and then told Whynot, lookie what happened over here, we needed to do something before that happened to us.

And...we put it off and all was well on The Avenue. Until Monday morning, when my friend Danielle was pulling out of our driveway. At best I am assuming the net part was caught in her van door. The basket was down all the way so TOF could play basketball and as she backed up she took the pole with her. Luckily it DID NOT fall on her car and we won't be part of some huge lawsuit.

TOF was just arriving to catch the school bus and he saw the pole fall. His first comment was, "that didn't look good." Then he walked over to Danielle and mumbled something about her doing a bad thing.

Luckily, Durwood was home this morning and ran right over with some sort of grinder to remove the part of the pole that remained in the ground.

New Moon Abundance Checks

This ritual has been handed down through so many people that its
origin has become unknown.

What are Abundance Checks?

Abundance checks are a tool we can use to create more abundance in our
lives. They are written within 24 hours after a New Moon.
Surprisingly, you really don't even need to believe that the check
will work when you write it. You will however be amazed at the
results, as you will see increased abundance in your life, in some
life area. It is not always financial, but certainly in an area that
you need.

There is a traditional manner, which has been handed down, that must
be followed. If you do not have a checking account you can draw a
check on a piece of paper and fill it out the same way - the results
will be the same, more abundance for you.

Here's how to do them:

1.) Within 24 hours after a New Moon, take a check from your check
book. Where it says "Pay to," write your name.

2.) In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a
dollar amount write "Paid in full."

3.) On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a
dollar amount, write "Paid in full." [I find it works better if you
don't add the squiggly line.]

4.) Sign the check: "The Law of Abundance"
Do not put a date on the check. Do not write a specific dollar amount
in the check. Put it in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe
will take it from there.

Many people are skeptical about trying this
until they do it. After the first time they realize the power of these checks and do them
routinely every month! Try it yourself and see!

If you enjoy this ritual, do it for the next three New Moons and see
what happens.

Remaining New Moons in 2009:

November 16, 19:14
December 16, 12:02

Saturday Snippets

...like Friday Fragments only a day later.

I've been sick, vewy vewy sick. The kind of sick that has you on a short leash between your bed and the bathroom kind of sick. The kind of sick that has you off of work for two days and the sound of the negative ka ching ka ching being subtracted from your paycheck makes you even more sick kind of sick. But I'm better and I'm back and I have snippets.

First of all! Hey Mr. Sun! Welcome back, where have you been? You peeked out for a bit yesterday and then took off into hiding again, but this morning, there you were all bright eyed and bushy tailed. All this rain has been ridiculous. We haven't even been able to go to the pumpkin farm yet and we're running out of time. I don't even want to think about my sadly neglected landscaping.

Had time to do some serious bonding with my DVR, caught up on my regular shows and even watched 2 movies. The first one being Juno, can I just say it was super gay and I mean no offense to the gay community, but the movie sucked eggs. It had potential but it was just too far out there for me to enjoy. But the second movie, 27 Dresses was cute cute cute! Loved it!

If by chance I have managed to keep any one's attention this far, there are a few rewards!

I still have this contest going on here.

Plus Uprinting.com is offering my readers TWO more prizes!

To enter Giveaway #2, please leave a comment telling me how you would use your stickers should you win this giveaway. You can enter all three drawings however, you can only win one prize.

I've already decided that my stickers will be a Christmas gift for TOF's bus driver Ms. Julie. She passes out a sticker to each child on the bus everyday for good behavior and I suspect she buys her own stickers. 250 custom stickers should last her a couple months, I just need to come up with a clever design for them ;)

One Month Old

Baby turned ONE month old on Thursday, which happened to be Glitter Gurl's 22nd birthday. I had this awesome idea to do a sort keepsake album for him for his 1st year. I'd take a picture every month and make some notes of what was happening in that particular stage of his life.

Here we are at MONTH ONE, 1st entry.

Baby when you turned ONE month old on Thursday, I lay dying a slow death and wasn't able to take your picture on my couch, on the blankie that Far Away Auntie Donna made for me. It was also Nana's 22nd birthday, she gets to be your fairy God Mother next week. Thank goodness your mother took the obligatory picture of you at home, dressed in your brother's snug fitting hand me downs that he wore at age 2 1/2 months.

You weighed 11 lbs 9 oz at your check up last week. I suspect you've hit the 12 lb mark already. You wear a size 1 diaper and size 3-6 months clothes. You eat, er, sort of graze all day long, sometimes drinking 2 oz, sometimes 3, sometimes just a 1 ounce snack. You have also taken a 4 oz bottle on occasion.

You've slept through the night about 3 times so far. You cry, deep and loud and way more than your big brother ever did. It gets our attention, that's for sure.

Your big brother is so crazy in love with you! Remember this when he's whaling on your head in a few years for taking his trucks or legos. He really does love you, every morning he comes looking for you, first thing, before he even says good morning to your mom. He makes you smile, all the time. So does Pa. See the monkey you're sitting next to? TOF and Pa made him for you at Build A Bear that first weekend you came home. I know, right? Pa at Build A Bear!

Someone will be taking a picture of you every month in the same pose with that same monkey every month until you turn one. But please take your time Baby, we're not in any hurry to have you grow up.

Happy One Month Birthday Baby!

Zhu Zhu Pets

Hamsters! Been there done that. Every mother's nightmare. Even when you regularly clean the cage, THEY STINK!

That's why I was so excited when MomSelect contacted me to host an in-home party to introduce the adorable new Zhu Zhu Pets.

Zhu Zhu Pets are mechanical, interactive hamsters that move around in their habitat. They each have their own individual sounds and personalities as they squeak and chatter at your child. The habitat was a tiny bit difficult to put together, mostly because the kids were so excited and I was moving too slowly for their liking, plus I just dropped $20 on a manicure and didn't want to break a nail (or ten). But once I got it all set up and we let the "SUZIE" pets explore, the kids had a great time.

I loved that there was no mess and no smell, but all the mischief of a real hamster. The giddy laughter was priceless. This is definitely going to be a great toy to have this winter when the weather won't allow outdoor play.

Click on the pic to enlarge.

Thanks MomSelect!

I was not paid for this post, the only compensation I received were the hamsters and habitrail set.

Someday My Prince Will Come....

A Prince! Ahhhh. For my little friends he came in the form of the UPS driver on Monday morning. They always get so excited to see his brown truck stop in front of the house and today was no different when he delivered a very special and very exciting surprise for them.

I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy compliments of One2One Network.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition includes a Blu-ray disc and a DVD in one package! For those of you not familiar with Blu-ray, it's simply a better format to watch a movie on. The picture is clearer, the sound is better and more elements, such as behind the scenes extra footage and games, can be put on the more scratch resistant and kid proof discs.

Not only will you get the classic tale of Snow White in this 2-disc special, it comes with plenty of extras:

* First time ever in High Definition 7.1 sound
* All new music video by Tiffany Thornton
* Disneyview – Expanded viewing experience
* Disney Family Play – What Do You See? and Jewel Jumble interactive games for everyone to enjoy
* Backstage Disney – go behind the scenes of this legendary tale
* Classic Bonus features include Dopey’s Wild Mine Ride Game, Karaoke Sing A Long, "The Princess and the Frog" sneak peak and so much more

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition promises to set a new standard in home entertainment. For anyone planning on purchasing the Snow White DVD & Blu-ray Combo Pack, here is a 10.00 off coupon. Also, a 5.00 rebate by mail is available if you purchase one participating Hefty Plate, Easy Grip Cup or Baggies product. Combined with a sale this could make a very inexpensive DVD perfect for holiday gift giving.

P.S. For me, MY Prince came about an hour later bearing a nice hot cup of Dunkin Donuts decaf with extra cream and all was good on The Avenue for at least 84 minutes.

In addition to the dvd I received from One2One Network, this blog post makes me eligible to win one of six gift cards they are giving away.
