The St. Paddy's Day Hangover

Hangover, pfft, paleese, there isn't one. I was snoring by 9:30.
Corned beef and cabbage, seriously overrated. At least the meal I had was.
Disappointment for Dana over here, the Snuggle Puss just didn't do it for her.
Anyone catch Law and Order last night with guest star Carol Burnett? I fell asleep midway, but finished up at an ungodly hour this morning. Love love love Carol Burnett. Waited the entire episode for her to twitch her ear, it didn't happen. Perhaps the producers thought us old timers were too senile to remember that from her variety show.
We're on day 4 of Spring Break here on The Avenue and all is well, the garbage bags are piling up in the garage for Vets to pick up on Friday. I've even managed to do a little, VERY LITTLE, yard cleanup. So far the worst thing about being alone is that there is no one to say "God bless you" when I sneeze.
This is a pet peeve of mine! Someone sneezes, say "bless you" I do it all the time, to people I don't even know, to me it's common courtesy. I taught my kids to say it at a very early age, how cute is it to hear a barely 2 year old say "besh you." I know a boy, who we will call Stupid Michael, who NEVER said "bless you" when I sneezed. IT.PISSED.ME.OFF! Hence the name Stupid Michael.
I still see Stupid Michael occasionally, and he's still stupid, always will be. And when HE sneezes, it takes everything I have NOT to say "bless you." Yeah I'm a little juvenile at times.
LOST tonight!
Something smells and I think it's me, time to hit the shower.
Have a great Wednesday everyone.

I am on board with the whole Bless You thing. I hate when no one in my darn family says it to me although I say it every time. I am to the point now that when I sneeze I say "Bless You Mom" and then "Thank You" all myself. How pitiful is that?

Last night I kept wandering around the house trying to remember "something" and it was LAW AND ORDER. I wanted to see Carol so bad.

When my wasbund finally left (I stupidly allowed him to "stay here til you find a place", I walked through the house thinking "IT'S MINE!! I CAN SIT ANYWHERE I WANT!" Then I hear four distinct sounds in the bathroom. I walked in and there were FOUR tiles laying in the tub that had magically popped off the wall. I sat and cried from sheer frustration, knowing "help was not at hand".

Then I got the caulk and put those puppies back on the wall myself.

Would a handmade card help my little girl? Hmmmmmm?

I hate when you say bless you and the person doesn't say thank you. Like my boss does EVERY TIME I say it. That ungrateful sneezer.

I'm so glad I am not alone in the whole "Bless You" issue. I always get weird looks from my family when we are out shopping and some one three rows over sneezes and I yell Bless you! I can NOT stop myself from doing it.

I don't do cabbage, but I made the BEST corned beef dinner I've ever had if I do say so myself.
And this Irish girl who drinks everyday, didn't drink an ounce on St Patty's Day. Can you imagine?!?! I think I may have been running a fever or something.

Yep, Carol Burnett was fantastic on that crime drama (don't usually watch it, can't remember the name), but watched just to see her. Creepy story! Wasn't it?

I got out of the habit of saying "Bless you" (or "gesundheit") when I was a kid and it started seeming like no one else on Earth said it anymore.

Turns out my wife feels the same as you, and now that both kids are walking, talking humans, she has been pushed to the edge by not hearing a chorus of "Bless yous" whenever she sneezes.

So we started a well-organized campaign to get them both doing it, and let me tell you, as cute as it is to hear a 2-year-old say, "Bless you," it's even cuter to hear one try to say, "Gesundheit!"
