What Time IS it?

First off, it's called Daylight SAVING Time, no plural, no possessive, plain and simple that means no S and/or no apostrophe S.

THANKYOUVERYMUCH. Now that I have that off my chest we can proceed.

I stayed up until 2/3:00 am to watch the time change and mutha! The clocks didn't change. At 2/3:01 my nifty neato clock radio with the handy dandy automatic time change feature still read 2:01. Bummer.

The time change was a long standing joke with my MIL. We'd each call her at various times of the day and ask her "What Time Is It?" She had no clue the poor dear. She'd change her clock according to what one of us told her, only to have to reset it when another one called with a different time. She joked and laughed about this every time, until the aides at her assisted living facility started coming around to change the clock for her. Bunch of spoiled sports.

It's 9:15 here although more than 1/2 the clocks still say 8:15, my MIL is no longer with us, but the tradition continues. My phone should start ringing soon. The kids will be calling to ask "What Time IS It?"

Do you have an inside joke? Leave me some comment love to make me giggle.

Awwww, what a lovely memory of the MIL and how wonderful to look forward to calls from the fam!

I'm hearing Chicago in my head this morning: "Does anybody really know what time it is, does anyone REALLY care?" Lol Hub wakes up predawn and actually DID set some of the clocks forward. The trick will be figuring out which ones!

And your google ads are split 50/50 on links for Daylight Saving Time and Daylight SavingS Time!

In our family (three sisters and one brother) my brother and I had this tradition: he'd call one of us and say "Just checking in" and hang up. Then he'd call back and ask "How far away were you when the phone rang?" and hang up. After he passed away, I took up the tradition.

I'd say it's time to get a maid in this house...if anyone bothered to ask me, which they won't because I haven't had my coffee yet.

I'm a grouch when it comes to Daylight Saving (said it right) time. I need my hour of sleep no matter if we get more sunlight when it's 6 PM or not. I say if we abide by this, then we must be given an hour to nap when at work, no distractions (on top of our lunch breaks).

When I reached for my wristwatch from my nightstand this morning, I noticed that the crystal covering the face was missing! I could not find it after a lengthy search. It obviously is my watch's unspoken protest against daylight saving time, don't you think?

That is pretty funny, and some of your comments are pretty funny ones too. I have nothing... and my automatic changing clock didn't change because they changed the day we change the clocks (can I say change any more in one sentence??) lol.

That is so cute. A little bit of loving torment;)

The boyfriend made me set 4 clocks at different times so that we wouldn't wake up too early/late if some clocks didn't change. And I think I am OCD? Who needs to be somewhere that important on a Sunday?

OMG if you could hear my hubby bitch and complain for the next 6 months it would make you giggle, for about the first 6 days anyway.

My parents took me on a cruise w/ them when I was 14. We were leaving one of the ports at night and while we were sitting in the windowed restaurant, everyone at the table kept asking "Are we moving yet?" Because we really couldn't tell if the ship was moving yet or not. This went on for a few minutes until we WERE finally moving. So, over the years my Dad and I would joke about that by just looking at each other during silly situations and say "Are we moving yet??" and laugh and laugh...

Love it. That's way too funny... and so great that you continue it today. And you realize that the reason they probably didn't switch over is because last year was the first year they moved daylight saving time (I almost put an S on there just for you but decided better of it), so you'll maybe see it move in two or three weeks?

I love that you had this joke with your MIL. And I'm sorry that she's gone. And I love that this piece of her lives on through your sense or humor and remembrance of her.

Oh, when you asked what time it was here...we're only 6 hours ahead of you now. We don't change until the end of March.
