Ho Ho Ho, Where Are You?

Yesterday was Augie Dawg's Christmas party so we got to hang out with our favorite buddy TOF. I thought it was the perfect day to go see Santa at the mall, being a balmy 19 degrees and all. I talked it up all day so TOF would be used to the idea of sitting on Santa's lap. I gave him a haircut, he got a tubby, ate some lunch, took a nice long nap. We had a great day so far.

We get to the mall and TOF is walking around saying "Ho Ho Ho, where are you?" I had a good feeling. We get to the display, here he is peering inside.

Here he is at the entrance. So far so good.

Wait, he's doing a 180! No, TOF no like Ho Ho Ho!

Aw come on Buddy, he'll give you candy.

No thank you. TOF no like Ho Ho Ho.

Well at least there were no tears or screaming. We might try another day and then again maybe not.

He was however, most cooperative at Picture People, where there was no fat man.

What you can't see on his shirt is "What Santa doesn't bring me, Grandma will"

Yup and he doesn't cry when he sits on my lap.

"Never talk to strangers TOF and especially if they offer you candy. . . and, by the way. . . don't sit on their laps."

followed by Christmas when TOF is told "Go into that little cubby hole and sit on that weird stranger's lap. . . . he'll give you candy!"

yep. weird even to MY ears.

My youngest did not want anything at all to do with Ho-Ho. Yet my oldest looked forward to sitting on his lap each year, and refused to go within ten feet of my dad! Go figure!

Neither of my kids ever refused to sit on Santa's lap, but neither of them were overly excited either. I think they felt like it was a duty!

Cute pics!

He is so adorable, both in the last picture and when he is not visiting Santa!

SO CUTE!!!!

I love the bit at the end about him not crying when he sits on your lap. LOL!!

See, I'm the "mean" mom who has the kids sit with Santa, even if they ARE crying. It makes for one helluva funny picture and there's no long-lasting trauma. Emily and Jared both get a kick out of their screaming pics with Santa. LOL

TOF's got it right - the man's just a big perv anyway. And we Grandma's know all the cool toys anyhow!!

Cute pics from Picture People. We have one of those here, but I swear they are all kids that work there. And not very talented or patient kids either - lol.

Noah no like Santa either.
When I asked him if he saw Santa he said NO. I asked did he sit on his lap he said YES. So I asked how did you not SEE Santa? He said "I do 'dis." closing his eyes verrrry tight. "I no like Santa."

Too cute! There's nothing more odd to me than a child who loves to get presents from Santa Claus, but is terrified to sit on his lap and chat with him! My children were the same...now we usually just wave; they don't seem to mind so much not visiting with him. Jaded and disillusioned as they are;) And thanks for stopping by!

TOF is adorable. And my little bro wanted nothing to do with the man in red until he was at least 8.

CUTE picture!

I gave up trying to get my boys to sit with the mall Santa a couple years ago. My youngest NEVER liked it and it wasn't worth the stress! But my uncle plays Santa at the family Christmas party and I always get pictures of them with him!

What a cute story! Im sure you will be telling him when he is older, about the time he was too scared to visit santa! I dont blame him, sometimes santa is a little scary. lol

Leah, you're not the only one that does that! Mema, you need to ENLARGE your current 'about me' picture so everyone can see the torture you put TOF thru LAST season lmaoooo!!

Santa doesn't even begin to terrify as much as that giant blue thingy!!! I'd be screaming too!

Guess who? ;o)

I hope my kid isn't afraid of Santa. We go next weekend to "visit" him. Cute pictures, I think the PJ one is clever!

I love this post! We just visited Santa today...while Carter loved him, Matthew did not. Hence why he is missing from the pics!

Love the Christmas jammies!!
