Change Has Come

Congratulations Barack......May I call you Barack, Mr President?

Four years ago I heard this eloquent man speak and I said, "hmmm, the Democratic Party is grooming him for the presidency in 2012 or 2016." I never thought that in 4 short years my prediction would become a reality. A reality over 40 years in the making, when another man had a dream.

A dream of a future where blacks and whites and all races would coexist as equals. That people would not be judged by color, but by character. That this great nation would rise up and live true to it's creed that all men and women are created equal.

Now more than ever, we must come together for the greater good of all. We must set aside prejudice, hatred, and discrimination. It's been a long time coming, but change has come to America.

Obama's historic victory brings expectations. He has given us hope. He has promised to deliver change and to make our lives better. His words in part are what got him elected. In the next 4 years we'll learn if President Obama is a man true to his words.

Godspeed Mr President! And God bless America, where all things are possible.

And that statement, "all things are possible", has never rang more true to me than it does today. We can do anything!

Onto our future!!

Beautiful blog today! Those are some very true words.

I'm so proud of my fellow Americans today.

I'm also happy that I'm not forced to move out of the country, because if McCain won I'd feel a strong urge to do so.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAmen!!!!

You know, I thought the exact same thing when I saw him speak that year. I said to myself "That man will be President one day". I thought it would 8 or 12 years away, had no idea he'd get here so quickly!

But it's a welcome change in my book!!!

Beautifully written!

Sadly, I didn't hear him speak in 2004 but my friend e-mailed me the transcript and said "An American President is born."

I'm looking forward to the next four years!

I think that most Americans are optimistic. Too many years of Republican leadership made us pessimists.

It's time for a BIG change!

I think you are really Dionne Warwick's mom, not Meg Ryan's.

I remember hearing that speech four years ago and saying to my husband, "I'd like to vote for him". Funny how life works out.

Mr Obama was not my first choice but I do congratulate him, wish him well and hope for the best for all of us.

And am so glad the race barrier may at long last have been crushed. We've come a long way in that respect.

I so hope that he can make the changes that will be of benefit to all Americans. I loved you post!!!!!
