From This Day Forward

Today I posted this to Facebook:

I have been married 75.51 Kardashians!

That's almost 15 years.

In all of those years I hardly ever wear the ring Whynot gave me when we exchanged our vows at the courthouse and he never wears his.  Unfortunately, I gained a little weight and he lost some weight, so our original rings don't fit anymore.

Instead, we purchased a couple of very simple, very elegant, 'platinum' bands.  Only they aren't really platinum bands at all.  They're titanium rings and were purchased at a fraction of the cost.

Rings crafted from titanium are a modern phenomenon, becoming widely available on the market around the 1990s. Titanium rings offer several unique properties: they are hypoallergenic, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant.

If you know you or your husband are going to be rough on your wedding bands, you may want to consider either a ring made of titanium or even a tungsten ring. Tungsten is the hardest, most durable metal on earth. A tungsten ring, like your marriage, is forever.
