I Voted!

Oh yes, I dragged my sorry ass outta bed at 5:30 and was out the door at 5:50, with coffee in hand. There were 30 people standing in the dark outside the polling place. I've never been there before the poll opens. The 1st three people in line had CHAIRS! Awesome I could vote and get Hannah Montana tickets all in one shot. At precisely 5:59 am, some guy, I assume an election judge ?? came out and said, "Hear ye, hear ye, the polls are now open." It was so official. I felt a twinge of patriotism.

The line moved quickly and smoothly, they were prepared for the approximately 80% turn out they expect today. Largest since 1908...ah a good year, the last one my beloved Cubbies won a World Series.

I saw several people I knew, Augie Dawg and The Neighbor and a few others from down the street, all performing their civic duty today. I was back in my car at 6:22, the sun was out, signaling a new beginning. A fresh start. One can hope.

But nag dabbit! I never got a sticker! Or those Hannah Montana tickets!

Did you vote? What are you waiting for?

Go VOTE!

I intended to vote early but of course that didn't happen. Plus I think I just like the excitment of actual election day. That's cool that you were there when the polls opened. I have to go at some point while the kids are in school.... Happy Election Day! : )

I am going this morning. Did you wear makeup and a bra? Is that reqired? Does not wearing them lessen my power as a voter?

Wow. The polls open at 6? Thank God, I voted early before I left for Phoenix, so I have it all done, wrapped up, and el finito.

When I left the airport last night they were blowing up red/white/blue balloons. Every leg of the flight the attendants were encouraging everyone to vote. It was cool.

I voted.

Five minutes in line.

I got my sticker and then proudly went to Starbucks (thanks for the info) for my tall cup of coffee.

I think I would have gotten chills with "Hear ye, Hear ye." I know my daughter would have. This is her first time voting. She could hardly contain her excitement.

I voted at 7 am! I totally got ripped off though as I didnt' get a sticker either.

I suppose I can forgive that if Obama wins.

Wow!
You are one dedicated voter!
Good for you!
We have mail-in voting here in Oregon. It's convenient, however I really miss going to my designated voting station and all of that.
No stickers for us.

I voted by absentee ballot so no sticker. And everyone coming into court today had one so I bummed one off of someone else so I didn't feel like a civic duty reject.

I just heard on CNN that because someone suggested they were somehow 'buying' a vote (?!) Starbucks and Krispy Kreme were now giving their freebie to anyone who asked -- so even those of you without stickers -- go get you some too!!

Of course, the lines there might be longer than there are at your voting booths lol

I voted two weeks ago on the first day of the early voting period. I waited for 45 minutes. Now, I get to sit back and watch CNN all night.
