The Wheels on the Bus

It’s that time of year again-Back to school. Ridiculously long lists of hard to find school supplies, early mornings, lunches to pack, running out the door so as not to miss the school bus.

The. School. Bus.

My local paper just ran another story of a child unknowingly left behind on the school bus. A sleeping 4 yr old girl on her way to preschool-picked up at her grandmother’s house.

WHOA, that scenario strikes entirely too close to home!

You can read the rest over at The Chicago Moms, where I am hanging out today. Come keep me company and please leave a comment.

Listen...in 1972 I was in kindergarten. I got off at a bus stop that wasn't mine. I went into someone's house. I don't even think I knew my phone number. Somehow I reconnected with my birthmother, who I must say at that time DID NOT DRIVE! I don't remember the details, and neither does my mother. She has blocked the events in my life out, I'm the middle child.

The moral of my story: I didn't make the five pm, five thirty pm, six pm, ten pm & eleven pm news. Not a SINGLE ONE!

Yeah... I have a bus post I plan to put up there, too. Once I have the time to sort out my thoughts. Eesh!

Oh, such a fear! The first day Noah rode the bus they passed our house and drove on by, NOT dropping him off. OMG.
