Life Is Grand

Harriet at I am Harriet honored me with this GRAND award.

In accepting I must list FIVE things that are grand.

Well the first THREE will be easy peasy, and the next two are not that hard either.

1. My very first GRAND is TOF, who turns THREE this month.
2. GRAND #2, a boy, due on April 21st.
3. GRAND #3 due on September 13th, a sibling for TOF (think PINK)
4. I think it's GRAND that Glitter Gurl has not yet produced a GRAND
5. and even more GRAND that Ink Man hasn't either,

(at least not any that he is admitting to.)

Chewable Pampers

In case you missed it, Saturday Night Live featured a commercial for Chewable Pampers: "All the convenience of a disposable diaper in an eco-friendly package." The edible diapers are available in different flavors: tangy cheddar, spicy lentil, and corn chowder. They're 100% edible and have anti-bacterial flavor crystals. "All great taste and no waste."

I want to share this. It had me ROFLMAO.

Happy Ground Hog Day!

On February 2, Phil comes out of his burrow on Gobbler's Knob - in front of thousands of followers from all over the world - to predict the weather for the rest of winter.

According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.

Punxsutawney Phil is the only true weather forecasting groundhog. The others are just impostors.

Welcome to February

Hurry, come in sit down, grab your pencils and score cards, there is a lot to pack into this short month. Ready?

K....today, February 1st

Super Bowl Sunday, just putting that out there for any of my followers that might live under a rock. Some time around 5 PM CST the Pittsburgh Steelers kickoff against the Arizona Cardinals. I will most likely be confined to my room watching Damages and General Hospital, madly running down thirteen stairs every time Whynot yells, "it's a commercial!"

Monday, February 2nd

Ground Hog Day. The day that little bastard lovable, furry creature, Phil from Punxsutawney determines whether we have 6 more weeks of winter or if spring, in all it's warmth and glory will arrive in six weeks. Yeah I don't get that either, but I play along, for the kids. TOF and I will be making a craft of some sort.

Tuesday, February 10th

Big Mouse's (aka the Prodigal Son) Birthday. Which coincidentally is the very same day that I will celebrate the 24th anniversary of motherhood.

Saturday, February 14th

Valentine's Day. Another one of those Hallmark holidays that leaves me slightly disappointed. Somebody please email Whynot and remind him!

Sunday, February 15th

Ninny's Birthday. Ninny (seriously, that's what the kids call her. She didn't want to be Grandma, she wanted to be Nanny, but when Big Mouse was little he said Ninny and Ninny stuck.)(Thank you TOF for saying Mema and not something objectionable) Anyway, Ninny is my former MIL, that during my entire seven year marriage to her son called me RUTH, (my name is Rita.) I need to remind Glitter Gurl to send a card and call her grandmother on her birthday. This I can remember, so why is so hard to fill up with gas or thaw something that will resemble dinner?

Sunday, February 22nd

Two birthday's today! My best friend Judy will turn 47. (Please note that I am still 46 until October.) The second birthday is TOF's Birthday. Funny coincidence again, it's the THIRD anniversary of my Mema Hood.

Other significant days scattered throughout the month include Abraham Lincoln's Birthday, (celebrated in NJ, MO, NY, CT, CA, IL) Presidents' Day, George Washington's Birthday, Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday.

February is also Blog Luv Comment Month.
