Breast Cancer Awareness Update

I've been "online" for roughly ten years. I met some very dear ladies when I first logged onto AOL in a DOOL chat room. Some I have even had the pleasure of meeting in person. We've shared so much through the years, ups and downs, new babies and even sadness. We "talk " about anything and everything. Today I'd like to share one of our recent "conversations"

Pardon the caps, it was easier to cut and paste.

LINDA DO NOT PASS ON YOUR MAMMO, MY GF IS NOW DYING OF CANCER AS SHE LET HER MAMMO GO FOR 2 YEARS GOT BREAST CANCER , THEN A MASTECTOMY THEN
REMISSION, THEN CANCER ALL THROUGH HER BODY, NOW LESS THEN 2 MOS TO LIVE SHE IS 59 AND IT MAKES ME SICK TO GO SEE HER . SHE IS WITH HOSPICE NOW AND SHE IS OR I SHOULD SAY WAS GORGEOUS, WONDERFUL FAMILY, EVERYTHING, JUST STUBBORN, I BEGGED DEBBIE GO GET YOUR MAMMO, I WILL I WILL AND SHE DIDN'T . I WANT TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO, BUT THAT WOULD BE SO CRUEL. SOMETIMES SHE IS LUCID AND MOST OF THE TIME SHE IS SLEEPING AS SHE IS IN SO MUCH PAIN. I AM SO MAD AT HER. I AM MISSING HER SO MUCH.

I was due this summer so I am still good. I see my regular Dr in Nov. and I will have her draw up the paperwork and go then. I wont skip it. I know the consequences. I'm sorry about your friend. It is hard to watch a friend suffer like that

How sad.
Its just wrong.

HOW IRONIC, I SENT THIS LAST NITE AND DEBBIE DIED THIS AM.

Readers I beg of you, do not become another Debbie. Go for that mammo, feel yourself up in the shower. An ounce of prevention truly is worth a pound of cure and you are worth your weight in gold!

Rest in Peace, Debbie.

Friday Five-Part 4

Welcome back to Friday Five, where I acknowledge FIVE funtastic and thoughtful bloggers.

I discovered the Thoughtful Blogger Award here .

The Thoughtful Blogger Award

For those who answer blog comments, emails, and make their visitors feel at home on their blogs. For the people who take others feelings into consideration before speaking out and who are kind and courteous. Also for all of those bloggers who spend so much of their time helping others bloggers design, improve, and fix their sites. This award is for those generous bloggers who think of others.

For Friday, October 3rd, I nominate:

#1 Fred

My first male commenter. I am all for giving a man credit when credit is due. Thanks Fred for stopping by, send your friends over, I love attention and comments!
She was so helpful in telling me how to post something form her blog over to mine. This is all fairly new to me and I am so not tech savvy, any and all help is greatly appreciated

She's a new follower, that automatically puts you in the running, just an FYI for next week folks, and also a GH fan. Julie was helpful in getting the Top Commenter widget working on my blog.

#4 Julie

No that's not a typo, two Julies this week. I thought that would be cute. This Julie is also a new follower this week AND she's a lawyer, but let's not hold that against her.

and

You have to go see this blog! Brad and Jen have FOUR boys, wait, not just four boys, quadruplets. I have ONE TOF, and he keeps me hopping, imagine how much fun FOUR would be. God bless you ( I think he already has)

Winners, please feel free to snatch up that award and post it proudly on your blog. Readers, go check out their blogs and tell them I sent you.

Congratulations and thanks again!

I'm late / I'm late / For a very important date. / No time to say "Hello." / Goodbye. / I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

Oy, this is tomorrow. So I'm going to be lame and steal straight from C & D's blog. Mea culpa. I signed up and sent my donation. Won't you please do the same. It's for the bing bings!

So here you have Jill's post:

Continuing on the theme begun last week, let’s talk some more about breasts, or rather breast cancer. Having two aunts – who also happen to be two of my favorite people in the whole wide world – diagnosed with breast cancer was a real wake up call for me and my family. We are fortunate that both of my aunts are survivors, but we also know that none of us are out the woods. And while there are many diseases that need cures and many causes worth of supporting, breast cancer goes after people like me – moms, daughters, wives, sisters, aunts, girl friends – so I take its attacks personally.

Cancer can break a spirit or send one soaring with a new-found strength of will. That breast cancer threatens a part of us that makes us who we are as women, seems particularly hostile. And this menace must be stopped.

So, join me, if you will on Team Charming & Delightful for Lee Denim Day, and let’s kick breast cancer’s ass. Click here to join my team and make a donation, if you can.

I’m competing against nine other bloggers, apparently, to see who can build the biggest team. The winner gets to give away a $500 Lee wardrobe to a lucky reader, so help me kick all those other bloggers’ asses too and I’ll put your ass into some cute pairs of Lee jeans!

p.s. If you are anonymous on your blog, no worries. Your name will not be listed on the site.

p.p.s. TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!

And the Fix Is In

This post should have been titled The Boys of October, but being as I am just a bit cynical. Oh, you haven't noticed? Why thank you! But yes, just a little. Not too bad. Just a little.

Have you heard? Both Chicago MLB teams are in the playoffs. I should be happy right? Not so in Chicago. You pick one baseball team or the other, not both. It's like a Red Sox/Yankees thing. Maybe uglier. DO NOT believe people who say "oh I love all the Chicago teams" LIARS! (hehehe, both Whynot's baby girls have chosen partners outside their league as did Ink Man)

Less than 12 hours til the important game here on The Avenue. Whynot is already up and out the door, he's driving Augie Dawgs to work, so he can pick her up at 2 and then head to Wrigleyville. These 2 are just a tad obsessed no?

Overheard on the way out the door, "So dad, are we taking my car tomorrow too?" "Am I coming home first?" "Bye Mema, see you Tuesday." And they were only half joking about that last comment!

To say they are excited is an understatement.

I'm excited too, TOF is having a sleepover tonight and tomorrow night. Yehawwwwwwwww. Big plans! Tonight, Walmart and some Wendy's chi chi nuggets for dinner, a little Oswald, a little Cub game, hopefully a chance to sing Go Cubs Go, tubby time and bed for TOF by 9:00 P.M.

Is there some good tv tonight? No matter, I have three episodes of GH on DVR.

Oh and I finally get it.....winner winner chicken dinner, it's from 21. We watched last night! Good movie! I'd recommend it, but I'm sure I was the last one standing who hasn't seen it. Was Kevin Spacey in some soap opera years ago? That's been bugging me since last night.

Off to Google him!

Have a good one!

Go Cubbies!
