A Quickie

To all of you taken aback, put off, or inconvenienced by the body scan at airports:

Read Erin's account and you may reconsider your opinion. Go ahead I'll wait, I'll even wait for you to pick your chin up off the floor.

Now what were you saying about that body scan?

Whynot and I recently flew to Kansas City, we were fortunate enough to be selected to pass through the body scanner. It was very early on a Saturday morning, I thought nothing of it. It was no big deal to me. Besides, any government employee who would get his rocks off looking at a scan of this grandma is pretty sad off IMO.

After reading about Erin's incident I'll gladly choose the body scanner over a pat down thank you very much!

I flew back from Montreal and Halifax in the last week. I was told that I could either be scanned (which takes a second) or patted down by a female security officer. I chose the scan.

No doubt! I'm with you -- if I have to do one for national security, send me through the imager.

That's ludicrous! I know we have to be vigilant in being safe but what Erin went through was quite uncalled for. I'm going to have to forewarn my daughter who plans on flying here to Oregon soon. Thanks for the heads up.

This makes me sick! I would have been arrested because I would have kicked her. I can't imagine what she must have felt.

It's all going TO FAR!

I am furious reading that account! And yet we do nothing to secure our border where who-knows-what is smuggled into our country daily, where people who live along the border live in fear, and seemingly anyone with a driver's license can vote!

And it's only now have they begun considering the unscanned cargo that comes in on the same planes as those people who've had to endure pat downs and body scans. It's not that I mind the scan, but we are deluding ourselves if we think we're secure because of a pat down or a scan.

It's like the pipe has burst, but no one is even attempting to fix the pipe. They're over on the other side of the room, telling us not to worry cuz they're there with a Q-tip, sopping up the water.

I've heard it said that the inmates are running the asylum. I believe it!
