Weekend Update

This is sort of a What I Did This Weekend/Meet My Friends/Pity Party type of post.

****SCROLL DOWN FOR AN IMPORTANT UPDATE****

Let me start by saying there was no hummin of the bo bo or wild sex fantasies and it just goes downhill from there.

Since his diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes two years ago, Whynot is on this let's get all healthy NOW, to make up for the bad eating habits of the prior 53 years. (for him, not me, oh hell no I am not going to be 55 this year, no sirree!) He exercises regularly, sticks to his diet and he's managed to take off 40 pounds and keep if off. Me on the other hand, I found his 40 pounds and then some. I would make a great yo yo. Chocolate covered of course.

In his latest quest for health, Whynot read somewhere that most adults don't get enough fiber in their diet and that a healthy high fiber diet can keep your diabetes under control. So we're off to Walmart for THIS!

And while we're there, Whynot suggests I purchase THIS!

Which is surely the equivalent of Chinese water torture!

Next stop, the mall. For shoes. Sensible shoes. The transformation is now complete. I AM MY MOTHER.

Next weekend Whynot and I may start shopping around for nursing homes.

Overall, Life is Good. Now excuse me while I fish my teeth out of a jar.

****UPDATE****

We're going to hold off on the nursing home for a bit. I think I may need a rubber room instead! Augie Dawgs came home today with news. She's pregnant again, it must have happened on her her lunch hour, because she's not due until September some time. Guess she wasn't hummin the bo bo either. Here we grow again. Mema Part Deux!

  1. Never knew they made those nose irrigation things in that shape. I usually grab a straw.

  2. Oh gosh. I know the feeling all too well. I've already got my name on nursing home waiting lists all over town. I can't wait.

And yes, I have one of those nasal irrigation pots. And I use it, occasionally...

  3. OK the Neti Pot is THE BEST. It fixes anything sinus/cold related. And the whole "feeling like I'm drowning" thing only lasts the first few times, after that you get used to it!

  5. Well I can speak from experience and tell you the fiber and the neti pot are AWESOME cleansing materials.

I practically worship my neti pot when my sinuses get plugged up. It takes some getting used to (And a strong stomach when you see what comes out) but totally worth it.

  6. I love the beneful it's great for people like me that don't get enough fiber and it's totally tasteless. I never tried the neti pot, but saw it on Oprah. Not too sure about the shoes.

  7. At first, I thought that lady was watering a plant.

Let us know how the nursing home search turns out. :)

  9. First off, cute shoes.

Secondly, from what I understand a neti pot works wonders. I always worry that I'm going to pour water into my brain or something but I'm seriously considering getting one myself...though I don't think I would want to share with anyone.

  10. I can't do it. I have been told that neti pot works great, but I can't do it. And those shoes aren't too bad, hopefully at least comfortable.

  11. Sheesh, I am sure not far behind...my mother uses the benefibre AND the freaky medi pot thing-y. What the heck is the point of drowning yourself out of the water anyhow?

And sensible shoes? Do flip flops count?

  16. This is the BEST post that I have read from you to date, Megryansmom. Love it. Filled with attitude and humor, which is just how I envision you in real life.

Confession: I am 33 and take Benefiber each and everyday of my life. What does this mean? Should I be looking for a unit next to you in the nursing home? :)
